Sami Khedira transfer to Arsenal could be back

Arsene Wenger was put off by Khedira's injury record and wage demands but he could be tempted now Los Blancos have lowered their asking price

Arsene Wenger could go back for Sami Khedira after Real Madrid put him up for sale.
Gunners boss Wenger was interested in the German midfielder earlier this summer  but was put off by his wage demands and his recent poor injury record.
But Real Madrid are now offering Khedira for around £12m because the 27-year-old only has a year left on his contract and is refusing to sign a new deal.
That may interest Gunners if they can get him to lower his £200,000-a-week wage demands and get him at a knock down price as previously the total cost of the package put them off.
Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti, who has also admitted Manchester United target Angel Di Maria wants to leave, confirmed Khedira is refusing to re-sign and they risk losing him for nothing next year.

Ancelotti said: "He's not asked to go. He's rejected an offer to renew, but has a year of contract. We'll see what happens."
Wenger has admitted Arsenal could be back in the market for a defensive midfielder and may "have to be creative" with their targets after Mikel Arteta suffered an ankle injury.
Their other potential deal is Sporting Lisbon's William Carvalho with the Portugese club keen to sell.
Meanwhile, the hunt for Olympiacos defender Kostas Manolas but face competition from Roma.
His agent Mino Raiola has looked for assurances that Manolas will play regularly and the Greek centre half would be behind Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny at Arsenal.
